Girls' Generation star Jessica has lashed out at the band's management and fellow band members for forcing her to choose between the band and her fashion business.

She said Wednesday she was embarrassed and heart-broken.

"I have devoted myself to Girls' Generation rather than my personal life and business," she said in a statement. However, my company (S.M. Entertainment) ordered me to leave the band."

The remarks came a day after the company said it had decided to release Jessica because of what it claimed was a conflict of interest.

Jessica claimed that she had discussed her plans to open her business with S.M. Entertainment and that the demand for the departure was "unjust."

She alleged that the members demanded that she choose between the band and the business.

"I said it was unfair to force me to make a choice. Being a part of Girls' Generation is the best thing that has happened in my life, and I've never even considered leaving," she said.

Jessica said that on September 16, S.M. had again confirmed that she could continue with her business, but two weeks later she was told she was no longer a member of the band.

Confirming that Jessica had been dropped, S.M. claimed she had already given notice she was leaving.

However, Jessica made no mention of this in her statement.

The rest of band left for China on Tuesday for a meet-and-greet with fans. According to news reports, some of the group cried while singing "Complete," a song on their first album, during the event.
