A local newspaper said Friday Jung, who surfaced in 2003 and created a "fitness boom" across Asian nations, including Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, is making a cameo appearance in MBC's "Apgujeong Midnight Sun" on Friday, taking a role as what she does best ― that of a personal trainer.
Jung has been making headlines overseas with her fierce promotional activities raising public interest in fitness workouts. She recently held a public fitness show that involved 10,000 participants in Hong Kong. Her fitness DVD from 2008 "Figure MLRobics" recorded seven hundred million online hits and sold 80 million copies. She is reportedly planning to release a second version of the DVD.
"About 300 fitness clubs with her name will be built in three years across China," an official from her management company was quoted by the newspaper. "And the first of the franchise will come to Shanghai."
