Police said Wednesday that they are looking into allegations that Cho Hyun-min, 35, a Korean Air senior vice president, splashed water in the face of the company's advertising agent.

The Seoul Gangseo Police Station said police would thoroughly investigate any cases of "gapjil" ― bullying the weak in a hierarchical structure ― no matter who the person is.

Cho, the sister of Cho Hyun-ah (Heather Cho), who made world headlines for the 2014 "nut rage" incident, is accused of throwing water in the face of the manager of Korean Air's advertising agency, HS AD, at a recent meeting in her Seoul office.

If the accusation is true, she could be prosecuted for assault.

According to Korean Air, she lost her temper because she was dissatisfied with the manager's answers to her questions during the meeting.

A Korean Air PR official admitted that Cho "yelled and threw the cup of water to the floor," but denied the accusation that she threw the cup at the manager.

After the issue came to the fore, she issued an apology on Facebook for her "foolish and reckless behavior."

She is now overseas on vacation.

Two weeks ago, shareholders of KAL Hotel Network, a Korean Air subsidiary, approved Cho Hyun-ah's comeback as its president at the company's annual meeting.

The elder Cho, 44, was indicted three years ago on charges of violating aviation security and business laws after forcing a plane to return to its gate during a row over how nuts were served. A lower court sentenced her to a year in prison. But she was freed after five months when an appeals court cleared her of hampering an air route ― the most serious charge.
