The military authority is speeding up its drive to embrace more science-oriented manpower by accepting applicants to control drones and analyze space weather.

As of Thursday, the Army plans to accept applicants specializing in controlling and repairing drones, according to the Military Manpower Administration (MMA), Monday.

This came as part of the defense ministry's reform drive to introduce state-of-the-art technologies in use for military operations.

The Air Force will also next week recruit officers who have expertise in analyzing the weather of space, according to the MMA. They will work on monitoring weather conditions in space and analyze relevant data.

The move is in line with the military's ongoing drive to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The military aims to introduce more technologies and relevant personnel to prepare for the declining number of troops and enhance efficiency of military management.
