AIG Korea CEO Douglas Min has vowed to offer more differentiated services for customers by upgrading the firm's operating system and digital strategy.

His pledge came on the 65th anniversary of the global group's entry into Korea Thursday. AIG Korea is the local arm of U.S. insurance giant American International Group. This year is the 100th anniversary of the group's foundation.

"AIG Korea was the first foreign insurance company to enter the Korean market. We have since continuously innovated ourselves to cope with rapidly changing demand," said Min.

"AIG Korea achieved meaningful growth in both the private and corporate insurance sectors last year. The year is the group's 100th anniversary. We should continue offering differentiated value to our customers."

Min also suggested introducing an improved insurance operating system and digitalized business strategy to attract more customers as this year's goals.

AIG Group said it will carry out a "100,000-hour global volunteer campaign" to mark its 100th anniversary. In a bid to help the group's social contribution across the world, AIG Korea said it will strengthen its charity and volunteer activities this year.

AIG Korea has been one of most active players in corporate social responsibility in Korea.

In 2018, 80 percent of AIG Korea workers volunteered their services for a combined 1,504 hours in 14 different corporate social responsibility programs.

The insurer won the 2018 Seoul Metropolitan Government Volunteer Service Award for its work with local communities.
