With a large number of new K-pop bands poised to debut this year, Vanner strode into 2019 with a full-length album titled "V" fronted by the lead single "Better do Better," Wednesday.

Overflowing with youthful energy and bold ambition, the five-piece act embodies vocal prowess and a fierce style inspired by hip-hop.

Although the group's career has just begun in Korea, Vanner ― composed of members Taehwan,?Gon,?Hyeseong,?Ahxian, and?Younggwang ― had already gained overseas fans through active Japanese promotional activities.

"Prior to our official debut in Korea, we've done numerous promos in Japan, holding over 200 concerts there," Hyeseong said during a press conference for the release of "V" in Seoul, Wednesday.

Having just started to make its mark in the K-pop scene, Vanner revealed its hope of becoming a unique K-pop act with incomparable musical style and concept.

Gon expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm so happy to finally debut and show what I've built over the years. We'll work hard to make a mark in the K-pop scene and survive."

The single "Better do Better" is a crossover of future-pop and tropical house groove, and its lyrics encompass the heart-fluttering emotions of a couple who are falling in love.

The 10-track studio album also includes "Upper," an audacious hip-hop track featuring bass synth, and "Without You," an alternative dance song with an addictive melody.

"We know it's quite unusual for a rookie band to debut with a full-length album, but we insisted on it because we wanted to show off various attractive traits to the public," Gon said.

When asked what really sets the group apart from others, Hyeseong picked "songwriting ability."
"Except for the final track, we all participated in composing our songs, writing choruses and rap and even crafting choreography," he said.

Citing g.o.d as a role model, Hyeseong added, "g.o.d always does its best and shows off charismatic charm onstage. We also want to emulate their sincere and unwavering passion."

Although Vanner members appeared a bit nervous, the rookie boy band was confident it would make a mark in the K-pop scene. Taehwan revealed that the group's goal for 2019 is to win a rookie award by the end of the year. "We'll do our best to rise to the top of the K-pop scene," he said.
