Rapper San E is again facing a deluge of public criticism over a fresh accusation that he has defended sex crimes involving hidden cameras.

The rapper appeared on MBC's hip-hop survival program "Target: Billboard - KILL BILL", which aired on Jan. 31. During his performance, he put up words saying "I love spy cams" on a large screen at the back of the stage.

This part of the show was broadcast without being filtered out, raising the eyebrows of many viewers as Korean society is fighting a battle against digital sex crimes using spy cameras, with the government rolling out measures to expand its crackdown on the crime.

After the episode aired, angry netizens took to online communities and social media to accuse the rapper and the broadcaster MBC for releasing the video without proper editing.

Staff of the variety show apologized on its website on Thursday.
"Those words have been exposed for a second on the screen during San E's performance, but the producers missed that part during their pre-screening, the statement said. "We apologize for airing the footage uncensored and will make sure this will not happen again."

San E has not made an official response yet.

Recently, the rapper was embroiled in conflict with feminist groups in Korea after releasing a series of controversial songs that have been accused of being anti-feminist, including "Feminist," "6.9 cm" and "Oong Ang Oong."
