Rocker Ha Hyun-woo from Gukkasten, one of the "loudest" voices in Korea, has ended his romantic ties with K-pop artist-turned-actress that once made headlines for the significant age gap.

The split came less than a year after Ha, 38, and former Kara member Heo Young-ji, 25, revealed their relationship last March.

Heo's agency DSP Media revealed on Monday that the pair had split. So did Interpark Entertainment, which protects the rock star's label. The latter company told Korean news wire agency Newspim it had confirmed the breakup with Ha personally.

The agencies declined to reveal reasons behind the break-up, citing "protection of privacy."

Ha rose to stardom in Korea when he competed against other musicians on the MBC TV singing competition show "I Am a Singer," in 2012, revealing his unmatched vocal power. He sang Beatles member John Lennon's "Imagine" during the opening ceremony of PyeongChang Winter Games in February 2018 with three other Korean singers.

Heo, the latest member of the band selected in an open TV audition in 2014 after two members left, extended her career to acting and TV variety shows.
