Boy band SF9 dropped its sixth mini-album "NARCISSUS," Wednesday, and may have unveiled their best, most solid work to date. The album title, inspired from Narcissus in Greek mythology who is notable for his beauty, reflects the band's narrative of self-love.

The nine members that make up SF9 ― Young-bin, In-seong, Jae-yoon, Da-won, Ro-woon, Zu-ho, Tae-yang, Hwi-young, and Cha-ni ― vowed to show off "mirror sexiness" with their latest release.

Earlier this year, member Cha-ni won the hearts of viewers after appearing in JTBC's hit drama "Sky Castle." The singer-actor expressed his desire to show off even more new hit content as a singer.

"Honestly, I didn't have much time to practice because I was filming the drama series, but I tried my best to learn the choreography and songs quickly," Cha-ni said during a press showcase held at K-Art Hall in southeastern Seoul, Wednesday. "Thankfully, the other members waited for me until late at night so we could practice together."

The new album includes six tracks that feature sensuous electronic music with delicate choreography to accompany the songs. The track "Enough" is composed of a plethora of trap, EDM, and reggae music. The lyrics in this piece express SF9's genuine thoughts on self-love, saying "You are beautiful. You are valuable. You are enough."

"We were inspired by Narcissus who appears in Greek mythology. The key message is mainly about self-advocacy and not letting others judge you," Young-bin, the leader of SF9, said. "We have tried a myriad of concepts so far, but we all agreed that a sexy, masculine image fits us the most."

A few members of the band also took part in writing the lyrics and composing the songs for this album. Member Zu-ho co-composed fun, catchy house-genre dance song "Play Hard," and "Life Is So Beautiful," which lies between rock jams and future bass.

He, Young-bin and Hwi-young participated in writing the lyrics for "Heartbeat," a medium-tempo pop genre with powerful melodies, and "Fall In Love," a Lo-Fi R&B track which rolls with piano riff and viral sound, along with Cha-ni.

Regarding Zu-ho's absence in promotional activities due to a back injury, Young-bin said "Zu-ho has been practicing with us to promote the new album, but the doctor advised him to concentrate on treatment. However, he has taken a major role in composing and writing the lyrics for several tracks."

When asked which member has grown the most personally and professionally, In-seong said "I think all members have changed over time. Personally, I preferred to sing ballads, but I've become fonder of different genres, such as R&B and dance. I'm grateful that we're able to nurture many artistic sides."
