Cable network tvN's "Romance Is A Bonus Book," which depicts the story of a 37-year-old divorced woman starting over with a new job at a publisher, is enjoying rising popularity.

According to recent statistics from online platform distributor Smart Media Rep, tvN's weekend drama recorded about 2.28 million views an episode on multiple platforms, including Naver TV, Kakao TV, POOQ and others.

It was the highest among the latest three romantic-comedy dramas on cable networks, with JTBC's "The Light in Your Eyes" recording 1.52 million views an episode and tvN's "Touch Your Heart" 1.23 million views.

Romance Is A Bonus Book is set at a book publishing company named "Gyeoroo."

Actress Lee Na-young, 40, returned to the small screen after nine years to play Kang Dan-yi, 37, who struggles to get a job to support her daughter who is studying abroad, after being ditched by her cheating husband.

To join the publisher as a "new" employee, Dan-yi had to tell interviewers that she had no career before, after she failed at many job interviews due to a career break.

Lee Jong-suk, 29, plays 32-year-old Cha Eun-ho, Dan-yi's longtime friend and managing editor at Gyeoroo. He has had a long-standing crush on Dan-yi.

In episode 8, the latest, Dan-yi realizes Eun-ho's feelings toward her and asks: "Do you perhaps like me?" The episode ends with Eun-ho's smile, raising the show's fans' expectations.
