Park Bom regained her crown on the music charts with her new album "Spring," eight years after her last solo album, 2011's "Don't Cry."

Park Bom, a member of the disbanded girl group 2NE1, launched her first solo album "Spring" during a media showcase on Wednesday. This is her first album after she moved to her new agency DNATION Entertainment from YG Entertainment.

"I can't believe I am really back," Park Bom said at the showcase, her voice trembling. "The title track Spring has various metaphors to it. I wanted to deliver the message that warm spring has come now as winter has passed." Her name "Bom" means "spring" in English.

Produced by Brave Brothers, Park's mini-album has three tracks, and the music video for the title track features Sandara Park, who was also a 2NE1 member.

Park's new album has a more feminine touch, with a different approach from that of 2NE1.

The album's release comes in the midst of a storm that hit her old agency YG. Park herself had once been accused of smuggling amphetamine to Korea from the United States, an allegation she and her agency strongly denied.

"I don't know what to say about Seungri or YG Entertainment," Park said at the showcase.

"Nevertheless, I chose to have a media showcase, because I wanted to let my fans know I am back."

Scotty Kim, the CEO of DNATION Entertainment, came up on stage to explain Park's health state.

After its release on Wednesday 6 p.m., Park's song topped charts on multiple music streaming services including Bugs, Genie, and Mnet.com.

"Thank you again for my fans who have been waiting so long," Park said. "I was really worried but I am so grateful that so many people listened to my song. I will try hard to become Park Bom again."

Park staged her first comeback performed on air, Thursday, on M COUNTDOWN, a show on music channel Mnet.
