Under the theme of "Vegan for Anyone," the one-day event will take place at Seoul Innovation Park in Bulgwang-dong, northern Seoul, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Since its launch in 2014, the annual festival has gained recognition as the nation's largest vegan event, attracting more than 32,000 people.

Seoul City said the festival will feature a variety of programs, which it believes will help people better understand vegans and vegetarians. It expects 10,000 visitors will participate in the event.

"There will be a session for vegans to speak about their everyday vegetarian diet for one minute apiece, and over 80 booths will be set up, allowing visitors to sample vegan goodies, including burgers and cakes, and experience animal test-free cosmetics and cruelty-free fashion," a local government official said.

Admission is free, and those wanting to sample the foods need to bring their own dishes, utensils and cups.

Two lectures on veganism and health, and animals and the environment will be delivered and concerts will also be held during the festival.

"The Vegan Festival is an eco-friendly proposal to make a more sustainable Earth and also a civic festival seeking the coexistence of people and animals," the official said.
