Ong Seong-wu, a former member of boy band Wanna One, will launch his solo career with the summer-themed song "Heart Sign," at 6 p.m., Tuesday.
This will be his first new release since the group disbanded in 2017.
"Lively melody and energetic lyrics are the key point of this song," Ong said as he introduced the song in a teaser video. He described the song as "refreshing" and "breezy."
The song is the second work of the "2019 Pepsi K-POP collaboration project" between Starship Entertainment and Pepsi.
The project's first release, the spring-themed song "BLOSSOM," was released last April. It featured K-pop group VIXX's Ravi and Girlfriend's Eunha.
Ong rose to stardom from competing in Mnet's K-pop survival show "Produce 101" in 2017. He made his debut the same year with Wanna One after becoming one of the top 11 finalists on the show. He will begin his acting career with his first TV drama "Moment of 18," which is set to air next month.
