A high school teacher was arrested Wednesday for allegedly blackmailing and raping a middle school girl in Daejeon.
According to police and media reports, the suspect, 30, allegedly raped the victim at a motel in February. He was apprehended Monday at his school in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province.
The two met through an online chatting app. The suspect started asking for pictures of her body after befriending her.
He allegedly used the pictures to blackmail the girl and raped her when they met.
The victim's parents reported to police when she belatedly told them about the alleged rape.
Police found evidence of his attempt to hide the crime by deleting his account on the app. He admitted most of the allegations but is still denying some, police said.
