Genesis, Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor were named the top three quality brands in the J.D. Power 2019 Initial Quality Study, the U.S. car ratings firm announced Thursday.
미국의 시장조사업체인 JD파워는 제네시스, 기아차, 현대차가 미국 JD파워 '2019 신차품질조사'에서 1~3위를 차지했다고 발표했다.
In this year's ratings, six Hyundai Motor Group cars won quality awards, making the automaker the most awarded company.
현대자동차그룹은 올해 JD파워 조사에서 차종 6개가 상을 받으며, 가장 많은 상을 받은 자동차 제조사로 꼽혔다.
According to the announcement, Genesis logged a score of 63 problems experienced per 100 vehicles. This led Genesis to finish first in both the premium segment and the industry overall in this year's ratings.
이번 발표에 따르면, 제네시스는 63점(신차 100대당 품질불만 건수 63건)을 기록했다. 63점의 제네시스는 프리미엄 브랜드 1위뿐만 아니라 전체 브랜드 종합 1위를 차지했다.
J.D. Power measured initial quality by collecting complaints from purchasers and lessees after a minimum 90 days of ownership of cars retailed between November last year and February this year.
JD파워는 지난해 11월부터 올해 2월까지 신차를 구매 또는 리스 후 최소 90일 이상 사용한 고객들의 불만 건수를 측정해 '신차 품질 조사'를 했다.
With the score of 63, Genesis was named the top brand overall for the second consecutive year, and No. 1 in the premium segment for the third consecutive year.
63점의 제네시스가 2년 연속 전체 브랜드 종합 1위에 올랐고 3년 연속 프리미엄 브랜드 1위에 올랐다.
Following Genesis was Kia Motors with 70, Hyundai Motor with 71, Ford with 83 and Lincoln with 84.
제네시스의 뒤를 이어, 기아차 70점, 현대차 71점, 포드 83점, 링컨 84점 순이었다.
Kia Motors was also named as the best quality mass market brand in this year's ratings. The brand has been leading the mass market segment for five straight years.
기아차는 올해 조사에서 일반 브랜드 2위를 차지했다. 기아차는 일반 브랜드 부문에서 5년 연속 1위를 지키고 있다.
By cars, Genesis' G70, Hyundai Motor's Santa Fe and four Kia Motors cars ― the Rio, the K3, the Sportage and the Carnival ― were each named segment winners.
개별 모델 부문에서 제네시스 G70, 현대 산타페, 기아차 4종 (리오, K3, 스포티지, 카니발)이 차급별 1위에 올랐다.
