Singer Koo Ha-ra has signed a contract with Japanese agency "Production Ogi," according to reports Saturday.
가수 구하라가 일본 연예기획사 프로덕션 오기와 전속계약을 체결했다고 복수의 매체가 토요일 보도했다.
"Koo impressed us by saying she would make another attempt in Japan," a production official was quoted as saying.
"구하라가 일본에서 새로운 도전을 하고 싶다고 말하며 우리를 놀라게 했다"고 새 소속사 관계자는 밝혔다.
She also unveiled a new profile photo on Instagram. "I always appreciate you. I am so glad," she wrote in Japanese. "I will strive to be better, so please support me."
그녀는 현재 인스타그램에 새 프로필 사진을 공개했다. 구하라는 "언제나 고마워! 정말로 기뻐. 앞으로 더욱 노력할게. 모두들 응원 부탁해"라고 글을 남겼다.
Koo attempted suicide on May 26 at her house in Gangnam, Seoul. She was found unconscious by her manager and taken to hospital. She later apologized through Japanese media for causing worries.
구하라는 지난달 26일 서울 강남구 자택에서 자살을 시도했다. 그녀는 매니저에게 의식을 잃은 상태로 발견돼 병원으로 이송됐다. 구하라는 이후 일본 언론을 통해 소란을 일으킨 점에 사과의 말을 전했다.
She has been involved in a legal battle with her former boyfriend since September, 2018. She accused him of assault and blackmail.
구하라는 작년 9월부터 현재까지 전 남자친구인 최종범과 법적 다툼을 벌이고 있다. 구하라는 폭행 및 협박 혐의로 그를 고소했다.
Koo, 28, debuted in K-pop girl band KARA in 2008. The group enjoyed global popularity, especially in Japan, with the smash-hits "Pretty Girl" and "Wanna" until it disbanded in 2016.
구하라(28)는 K팝 걸그룹 카라로 2008년 데뷔했다. 걸그룹 카라는 '프리티걸'과 'Wanna'가 대성공을 거두며 세계적인 인기를 누렸다.
