Samsung Electronics' premium Galaxy Note 10 smartphone will hit the Korean market on Aug. 23, telecommunication industry officials said Friday.

Samsung will start receiving pre-orders for the smartphone on Aug. 9, two days after the company unveils it, they said.

The company's latest premium smartphone will be officially introduced in New York on Aug. 7 at an unpacking event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Industry analysts said the Note 10 is expected to come in two sizes ― a 6.3-inch display and 6.8-inch model, which will likely be called the "Note 10 Plus."

Another difference between the Note 10 and previous models is that it will not have a 3.5-milimeter headphone jack, following the latest smartphone trend, like Apple's iPhone. The Bixby button, which is on the left side of Samsung's premium smartphones such as the Galaxy S and Note, is expected to disappear.

As seen in the Galaxy S 10 series, the Note 10 will adopt the Infinity O display, which has sensors and cameras in a punch hole on the front display.

The smartphone is expected to come in 4G network-enabled versions and 5G versions in the global market but only 5G versions are expected to be sold in Korea. The price is expected to range between 1.2 million won ($1,017) and 1.4 million won.

Samsung said it "cannot confirm the launch date of the Note 10 and whether it will sell only the 5G-enabled version here."
