Kim Sae-yeon, 20, from the United States, won the 2019 Miss Korea competition held in the Grand Peace Hall at Kyung Hee University, Thursday, hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, the sister paper of The Korea Times, and Hankook Ilbo E&B.
김세연(20·미주)이 목요일 경희대 평화의전당에서 열린 한국일보, 코리아타임스, 한국일보E&B 주최 '2019 미스코리아 선발대회'에서 '진'에 선정됐다.
The six runners-up were: Shin Yoon-ah, 22, from Seoul; Lee Hye-ju, 21, from Daegu; Shin Hye-ji, 23, from Seoul; Woo Hee-jun, 25, from Busan and Ulsan; Lee Da-hyun, 22, from Seoul; and Lee Ha-nuey, 23, from Daegu.
'선'에는 우희준(25·부산)과 이하늬(23·대구), '미'에는 이혜주(21·대구), 이다현(22·서울), 신혜지(23·서울), 신윤아(22·서울)가 선정됐다.
The 63rd Miss Korea contest, with 32 candidates, was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook. The judging panel consisted of experts in the areas of fashion, music and entertainment, joined by actresses and former Miss Koreas.
본선에 진출한 최종 32명의 후보들이 참가한 제63회 미스코리아 선발대회는 유튜브와 페이스북을 통해 생중계됐다. 심사위원단은 패션, 음악, 예능 분야 전문가들로 구성됐으며 여배우들과 전직 미스코리아들이 참여했다.
The pageant kicked off with regional preliminaries on April 15. The 49 finalists were reduced to 32 after the first elimination interview to test the knowledge and awareness on various social and gender issues present within the country.
'2019 미스코리아 대회'는 4월 15일에 지역 예선으로 시작됐다. 49명의 최종 후보자들은 국내에 존재하는 다양한 사회·성별 문제에 대한 지식과 인식을 검증하기 위한 면접 후 32명으로 줄어들었다.
The candidates presented performances. Divided into three groups, they expressed their talent through modern, traditional and funk style dances.
미스코리아 후보들은 공연을 선보였다. 세 개의 조로 나뉘어 현대·전통·펑크 스타일의 춤을 통해 재능을 뽐냈다.
The Miss Korea Nokwon Charity Committee, comprised of former winners also performed.
전 미스코리아 수상자로 구성된 미스코리아 녹원회도 이날 공연을 했다.
The candidates sang "Mother to Daughter" afterward, with special video messages from their mothers, while recalling their efforts during a month-long training camp.
이후 미스코리아 후보들은 한 달 동안 진행된 합숙 동안의 노력을 되새기며, 후보자 어머니들로부터 받은 특별한 영상 메시지와 함께 '엄마가 딸에게'를 불렀다.
The Hankook Ilbo E&B will manage the careers of the winner and the runners up for the next two years.
한국일보E&B는 앞으로 2년 동안 미스코리아 대회 수상자들과 본선 진출자들의 경력 개발을 돕는다.
