Mina, a Japanese member of K-pop girl band TWICE, will be absent from a world tour due to extreme anxiety, according to her agency JYP Entertainment, Thursday.

"Mina is suddenly feeling extremely nervous and anxious about performing on stage," the agency said. "We do not exactly know the name of the condition, but are inquiring with medical institutions to verify the cause."

It added: "The decision (that Mina should miss the tour) came after a thorough discussion with Mina and other TWICE members. We will do our best for her recovery. Please support her."

Only eight members ― Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu ― will continue the "TWICE World Tour 2019 'TWICELIGHTS'" until August 17. They will hold concerts in Singapore, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Newark, Chicago and Kuala Lumpur.

Mina, 22, debuted as a TWICE member in 2015 with the mini-album "THE STORY BEGINS." The band shot to fame with big hits including "Cheer Up" (2016) and "Knock Knock" (2017). It is also the first K-pop girl band to have a dome tour of Japan.
