British pop singer Anne-Marie hosted an "emotional" free concert for Korean fans who were disappointed by the abrupt cancellation of her performance at the Holiday Land Festival.
영국 가수 앤 마리가 홀리데이랜드페스티벌에서 갑작스러운 공연 취소에 실망한 팬들을 위해 무료 공연을 열었다.
Her goodwill concert came after the festival organizer announced on Sunday on a large screen that the British singer had canceled her performance, which Anne-Marie said was not true.
그녀의 따뜻한 마음이 담긴 콘서트는 홀리데이랜드페스티벌 주최 측이 축제 당일 대형스크린을 통해 영국 가수 앤 마리가 공연을 취소했다고 알린 뒤 열렸다. 홀리데이랜드페스티벌 공연 취소는 앤 마리의 결정이 아니었다.
On Monday, she was compared to the Portuguese superstar Christian Ronaldo who disappointed Korean fans by staying on the bench throughout his team's football game against the Korean All-Stars last week.
앤 마리의 이러한 행보는 지난주 K리그 올스타를 상대로 친선전에 출전하지 않고 벤치를 지키며 한국 팬들을 실망시킨 포르투갈의 슈퍼스타 축구선수 크리스티아누 호날두와 비교됐다.
Compared to the footballer, Anne-Marie, however, did her utmost to honor her commitments to perform for Korean fans. "I DID NOT CANCEL THE SHOW PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD," Anne-Marie wrote on Twitter in all-caps.
앤 마리는 호날두와 달리 한국팬들을 위해 최선을 다했다. 그녀는 "내가 공연을 취소한 게 아니다. 이 말을 전해달라"고 트위터에 글을 올렸다.
She uploaded the post with a video saying the festival organizer, Fake Virgin, stopped her from taking the stage as she didn't sign an intrusive statement requiring her to take responsibility if fans are injured in any accidents as a result of her performance. The fans were told otherwise, as the organizers said Anne-Marie refused to come on stage just before her performance was scheduled to begin.
앤 마리는 페스티벌 주최사인 페이크버진이 공연 시 일어날 수 있는 사고에서 팬들이 다치면 발생하는 책임 요구에 서명하지 않았기 때문에 그녀가 무대에 서는 것을 막았다고 해명하는 동영상을 올렸다. 주최측은 앤 마리가 공연 시작 직전에 무대에 오르는 것을 거부했다고 밝혔다.
"I've been waiting for confirmation this whole time. I know that one stage has been already shut down, but I'm not allowed to go on," she said. "I'm so sorry but it wasn't up to me, and if it was up to me I would still be down there performing."
그녀는 "나는 최종 승인만을 계속 기다리고 있었다. 다른 공연이 중단된 것은 알고 있었고 나도 스테이지에 오르지 못하게 했다"라며 "정말 미안하다. 내 권한이 아니었다. 내가 어찌할 수 있었다면 저 아래에서 공연하고 있었을 것"이라고 말했다.
She said she was only told the stage was structurally unsafe.
앤 마리는 무대가 구조적으로 불안정하다는 말밖에 듣지 못했다고 전했다.
An hour later, she made another announcement that the show would go on, announcing a surprise concert held for free at Rubic Lounge at Paradise City Hotel at 11:30 p.m. A long line of people appeared at the hotel within an hour.
1시간 뒤, 앤 마리는 "공연은 계속 될 것"이라며 오후 11시 30분 파라다이스 시티 호텔의 루빅 라운지에서 깜짝 무료 공연을 열 것을 발표했다. 많은 사람들이 1시간 만에 호텔에 도착했다.
During the concert, fans surprised her by launching paper planes while singing along with her. The singer shed tears toward the end of the show, overcome by Korean fans enthusiasm.

For the people who could not make it to the concert, she put it up live on Instagram for everyone to watch. More than 12,000 people watched the live broadcast on Instagram.
공연에 오지 못하는 팬들을 위해 앤 마리는 인스타그램 라이브를 통해 공연을 실시간으로 중계했다. 12,000명의 팬들이 그녀의 깜짝 공연을 인스타그램을 통해 라이브로 시청했다.
Anne-Marie is a 28-year-old British singer who has seen growing popular in Korea for her song "2002." The song was released in April last year, but belatedly grabbed ears in Korea for the year is also significant in Korean football history.
영국 가수 앤 마리(28)는 히트곡 '2002'로 한국에서 인기를 얻었다. 한국 축구에 기념비적인 해이기도 한 '2002'는 지난해 4월 발매되며 한국팬들의 귀를 사로잡았다.
