Trot singer Kangnam and his girlfriend Lee Sang-hwa, who is a retired Olympic speed skater, will tie the knot in October after dating for a year.
가수 겸 방송인 강남과 스피드스케이팅 전 국가대표 이상화 커플이 1년간의 연애를 마치고 오는 10월 결혼한다.
His agency Dmost Entertainment said the couple will marry at a Seoul hotel on October 12.
강남의 소속사 디모스트엔터테인먼트는 강남-이상화 커플이 10월 12일 서울의 한 호텔에서 결혼식을 올린다고 전했다.
"Two people will see the fruit of their love, their marriage, on the basis of love and trust," an agency spokesperson was quoted as saying. "Please bless the couple, who is about to wed, on their new journey."
이들의 소속사는 "두 사람이 서로에 대한 사랑과 신뢰를 바탕으로 결혼이라는 사랑의 결실을 보게 됐다"며 "새 출발을 앞둔 이들의 앞날에 따뜻한 축복을 부탁드린다"고 밝혔다.
Kangnam and Lee met on SBS reality program "Law of the Jungle" and admitted in March that they have been dating since last October.
이상화와 강남은 지난해 SBS 예능 프로그램 '정글의 법칙'에 함께 출연하며 만났다. 지난 3월, 작년 10월부터 교제해온 사실을 인정했다.
On August 12, the agency said that Kangnam, born to a Korean mother and a Japanese father, had decided to give up his Japanese citizenship to become a naturalized Korean.
지난달 12일 강남의 소속사는 한국인 어머니와 일본인 아버지에게서 태어난 강남이 일본 국적을 포기하고 한국 국적을 취득하기로 결정했다고 발표했다.
He debuted in 2011 as a member of now-disbanded group M.I.B.
강남은 2011년 지금은 해체된 그룹 M.I.B의 멤버로 데뷔했다.
Lee was a 500-meter gold medalist at Vancouver in 2010 and at Sochi in 2014. She won a silver medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.
이상화는 2010년 밴쿠버동계올림픽과 2014년 소치동계올림픽 스피드스케이팅 500m 금메달리스트이자 지난해 평창동계올림픽 은메달리스트다.
