Mirae Asset Daewoo was named as this year's best securities firm by customers, according to the Korea Finance Customer Federation (KFCO), Thursday.

The KFCO said it analyzed 56 domestic brokerages under four categories to release its rankings of the best securities firms.

It collects related data by surveying financial customers every year. The federation surveyed 5,636 customers to decide this year's rankings.

Of the 56 firms, the Mirae Asset Financial Group's brokerage unit received 92.74 points out of 100. By categories, Mirae Asset topped safety and financial soundness.

Samsung Securities was the runner-up receiving 90.98 points. The firm took second place in the financial soundness category.

NH Investment & Securities topped the ranking in 2017, but slid to third this year with 90.38 points.

Mirae Asset topped the safety and financial soundness categories in the survey, posting a 135.23 percent liquidity ratio, 12.35 percent capital adequacy ratio and 1,669.01 percent net capital ratio.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service, Mirae Asset Daewoo posted a 403.9 billion won ($337.1 million) operating profit and a 387.6 billion won net profit in the first half of the year.
