Fin.K.L, a four-member girl group that had its heyday in the 1990s, will return with a fresh release after 14 years, according to JTBC reality show "Camping Club," Sunday. The band's last album "Fin K.L" was released in 2005.
90년대에 최고의 전성기를 보낸 4인조 걸그룹 '핑클'이 14년의 공백을 깨고 신곡으로 돌아온다고 JTBC의 예능 프로그램 '캠핑클럽'을 통해 일요일 밝혔다. 핑클의 마지막 앨범 'Fin K.L'은 2005년에 나왔다.
The program featured the quartet ― Lee Hyo-ri, Ock Joo-hyun, Sung Yu-ri and Lee Jin ― preparing for the new release and a concert. On the show, the group traveled around Korea in a camping car, shared their stories, and decided whether to perform on stage as a group again to celebrate the 21st anniversary.
JTBC '캠핑클럽'은 핑클의 멤버들(이효리, 옥주현, 성유리, 이진)이 신곡 및 콘서트를 준비하는 모습을 방영했다. 방송에서 핑클의 멤버들은 캠핑카를 타고 국내 이곳저곳을 여행하며 자신들의 이야기를 공유했고, 데뷔 21주년을 기념해 완전체로 공연을 할 것인지를 결정했다.
"I thought it would be far too obvious if we merely belt out our old songs again," Hyo-ri said on the program.
이효리는 방송에서 "우리가 그저 옛날 노래들을 부른다면 너무 뻔할 것 같다"라고 심경을 밝혔다.
The four members met Kim Hyun-chul, an acclaimed songwriter, to discuss the details.
핑클의 멤버들은 유명 작곡가 김현철을 만나 신곡에 대해 이야기를 나눴다.
Although the song has been kept under wraps, Kim has already written the melodies. But he left out the lyrics so Fin K.L members can contribute to them.
신곡은 비밀에 부쳐있지만, 김현철은 이미 곡의 멜로디를 작곡한 상태였다. 하지만 그는 핑클의 멤버들이 직접 작사할 수 있도록 가사를 빼놓았다.
Fin K.L debuted with the album "Blue Rain" in 1998 and shot to fame with hit songs including "Eternal Love (1999)" and "Now (2000)." Fin K.L. was one of the most popular girl groups of the '90s, alongside rival S.E.S.
핑클은 1998년 'Blue Rain'으로 데뷔해 '영원한 사랑(1999)', 'Now(2000)' 등 히트곡들을 내며 단숨에 최정상의 자리에 올랐다. 핑클은 당시 라이벌이었던 S.E.S와 함께 90년대 최고의 걸그룹이었다.
