Boy group Monsta X's Lee Joo-heon, better known by his stage name Joohoney, 26, will take a temporary break due to health concerns.

The group's agency Starship Entertainment said on Twitter Sunday that Joohoney had been advised to take a break after being diagnosed with anxiety disorder at multiple hospitals.

"After receiving the results of medical examinations, all members discussed the issue and came to the conclusion that Joohoney needs enough rest," the agency said. "We ask for your understanding so he can recover and return."

Last month, Joohoney suffered a severe headache and dizziness after boarding a flight to the United States, where the group was scheduled to perform at the Jingle Ball concert. He missed the flight, but later joined the members after receiving medical treatment.

Whether and when he will return to the team is unclear. The agency said it all depended on his health.

For the time being, Monsta X will be promoted as a five-member group. It is preparing to release its first all English-language album on Feb. 14.

Monsta X debuted in 2014 and gained an international following after appearing on popular TV shows in the U.S., including the Ellen Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Good Morning America. The group made history in 2018 as the first K-pop band to perform at the Jingle Ball, an annual concert tour series organized by iHeartMedia, a U.S. media company.
