Ennio Moricone, whose scores for movies such as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," "The Mission" and "Cinema Paradiso" made him one of the world's most famous and prolific screen composers, has died, ANSA news agency said on Monday. He was 91.
'황야의 무법자,' '미션', '시네마 천국' 등 영화 음악으로 세계에서 가장 유명하고 다작하는 영화 음악가가 된 엔니오 모리꼬네가 세상을 떠났다고 이탈리아 ANSA통신이 월요일 밝혔다. 향년 91세.
ANSA said Morricone, who won two Oscars and dozens of others awards including Golden Globes, Grammys and BAFTAs, broke his femur some days ago and died during the night in a clinic in Rome.
ANSA통신은 두 번의 오스카와 골든글러브, 그래미, 영국아카데미 시상식 등 수십 개의 다른 상을 받은 모리꼬네가 며칠 전 대퇴부 골절상을 입고 로마의 한 병원에서 밤중에 별세했다고 전했다.
His last Oscar was in 2016 for best original score for Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight."
그의 마지막 오스카상 수상은 2016년 쿠엔틴 타란티노 감독의 '헤이트풀8'의 음악상이었다.
Morricone wrote for hundreds of films, television programs, popular songs and orchestras, but it was his friendship with Italian director Sergio Leone that brought him fame, with scores for Spaghetti Western starring Clint Eastwood in the 1960s.
모리꼬네는 수백 편의 영화, 텔레비전 프로그램, 가요, 오케스트라를 위해 작곡을 했지만, 그에게 명성을 가져다준 것은 1960년대 클린트 이스트우드 주연의 '스파게티 웨스턴'((1960~70년대 이탈리아산 서부영화) 영화들의 음악을 만들게 해준 이탈리아 감독 세르지오 레오네 감독과의 우정이었다.
