K-pop behemoth BTS is poised to release a new digital single in English, Aug. 21.
한국 가요계의 거물 방탄소년단이 8월 21일 영어로 된 새로운 디지털 싱글을 발매할 예정이다.
"We were initially set to drop an album later this year, but decided to release a single in advance for you," BTS frontman RM told fans during BTS' radio broadcast on Naver's V Live, Sunday. "We wanted to invigorate you, as you have been going through tough times due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
방탄소년단의 리더인 RM은 일요일 네이버 브이라이브를 통해 방송된 방탄소년단 라디오 방송에서 팬들에게 "원래는 올해 말 앨범을 내려고 했으나 싱글을 먼저 발표하기로 했다"고 밝혔다. 이어 "우리는 여러분이 코로나19 대유행으로 인해 힘든 시기를 겪고 있는 만큼 여러분에게 활력을 드리고 싶었다"고 덧붙였다.
His bandmate Jimin said: "I think the new song is energy-boosting. Just like many other people, all of our plans have practically fallen apart because of unforeseen circumstances, and this made us feel helpless for a while. So we looked for a way to create a breakthrough and came to work on this song, tackling a fresh challenge."
그의 동료 지민은 "신곡은 에너지를 북돋아 주는 노래다. 다른 많은 사람들과 마찬가지로 우리의 모든 계획이 예측하지 못한 상황으로 인해 사실상 무산되었고, 이로 인해 우리는 한동안 무력감을 느끼게 되었다. 그래서 우리는 돌파구를 만들어낼 방법을 찾았고 새로운 도전을 시도하면서 이 곡을 작업하게 되었다."
The seven-piece act was set to embark on a world tour in April, but called off or postponed all the concerts following the virus outbreak. Instead, it played a paid online gig, "BANG BANG CON The Live," June 14, attracting more than 756,000 people in over 107 countries.
이 7인조 그룹은 지난 4월 월드 투어를 시작할 예정이었으나 바이러스 발생 이후 모든 콘서트를 취소하거나 연기했다. 대신 이들은 지난 6월 14일 유료 온라인 공연인 '방방콘 더 라이브'를 열었고, 107개 이상의 국가에서 75만6천명이 넘는 관객이 몰렸다.
It is uncertain for now whether the new single will be included in BTS's next album, according to Jin.
새 싱글이 방탄소년단의 다음 앨범에 포함될지는 현재로써는 미지수라는 게 진의 설명이다.
Although further details about the track ― such as its title and genre ― are being kept under wraps, the members hinted that it is "very uplifting."
제목과 장르 등 곡에 대한 자세한 내용은 비밀에 부쳐있지만 멤버들은 신곡이 "희망을 주는 노래"라고 귀띔했다.
