Korea's largest annual comic book festival will start a nine-day run from Saturday. This year's Bucheon International Comics Festival (BICOF) will be held online through Sept. 27 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time for the festival to be held online.

Marking the 23rd anniversary of BICOF, diverse events and exhibitions are scheduled to take place under the theme "Anytime, anywhere, comics." The festival organizer said it put efforts to introduce online friendly contents so that audiences can enjoy the festival regardless of time and place.

One is to hold 3D exhibitions to present the winning pieces of the festival in 2019 and 2020. In addition to the exhibition, the videos of the interviews of the authors and the commentators will also be released.

Cartoonists including Razen of "Weak Hero," Park Yong-je of "The God of High School" and Henie of "Gugugaga" will hold online fan meetings on YouTube.

A cosplay event "Cosplay @ Home" will be held where videos and photos of the winners of the competition held by the organizer beforehand will be released one by one on YouTube.

Seminar sessions including "Independent comics" and online concerts playing the soundtrack of the television drama "Itaewon Class" will also be held on the sidelines of the event.
