Jeep launched a redesigned version of the Compass compact SUV in the Korean market, Thursday, with the aim of appealing to young drivers who want an interior full of new digital technologies and enhanced on-road performance.

"We introduce Jeep's global compact SUV, the new Compass, newly redesigned after four years," Jacob Aumann, the president and managing director of Stellantis Korea, told reporters during a launch event held at a cafe in Seoul.

For the Korean market, the Jeep Compass comes in three versions: the Limited model, equipped with a 2.4-liter front-wheel-drive, the Limited all-wheel-drive version and the S version with a 2.4-liter all-wheel-drive. They are priced at 51.4 million won ($39,523), 54.4 million won and 56.4 million won, respectively.

"The Compass has a car setting made for the younger generation. It has a new exterior and interior, a more enhanced safety assistance system, state-of-the-art technology and various conveniences features," Kim Byoung-hee, sales trainer of Jeep, said.

The SUV has a new seven-slot grille in the front and LED headlamps. It has newly designed 18-inch and 19-inch wheels, enhancing the attractiveness of the vehicle.

However, what is more surprising is its interior, as inside the vehicle there has almost been a complete redesign. The Compass has a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen, which are some of its strongest selling points.

Also, it has a powerful infotainment system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Google's Android Auto. For Korean customers who want to have a better navigation experience, the Compass supports the locally popular TMap navigation system as well. The vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree surround view system to avoid blind spots when parking.

Stellantis Korea said customers will be able to receive the new vehicle as soon as they purchase the car, with no wait time, which is another attractive point of the Compass at a time when many new car buyers are waiting for their vehicles for more than six months due to semiconductor shortages and supply chain disruption issues.
