Yoon Sang-hyun of the popular hit drama ''Secret Garden'' (SBS) announced his upcoming entrance into the Japanese market, Tuesday.

The 33-year-old Yoon, who plays the role of hallyu (Korean wave) singer Oscar in the fantasy-romance series, will release his first novel Jan. 25 followed by his first studio album on Feb. 16.

The book ''Somunraebok'' will be an autobiographical tale of his experiences, while the album will be called ''Precious Days.'' The actor has previously released singles in both Japan and Korea, and performed in the series' original soundtrack concert earlier this month.

Yoon will sing a short live set and meet fans at Tokyo's Gotanda U-Port Hall on Feb. 25 and Osaka's NHK Osaka Hall on Feb. 27.

The actor first made his debut in 2005 and also appeared in the 2009 KBS drama ''My Fair Lady.''

''Secret Garden'' follows the tale of the rich and arrogant department store owner Kim Ju-won (Hyun Bin) and the independent stunt woman Gil Ra-im (Ha Ji-won). Though the two clash at first, they soon develop feelings for one another ― right as they unexpectedly exchange souls. Yoon plays the role of Kim's cousin, and the two carry out a fiercely competitive relationship.
