Sejong University will host the first human vs. artificial intelligence (AI) StarCraft match next Tuesday.
The match will take place 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the school's Student Union Building.
Global StarCraft champion Song Byung-gu and No. 1 StarCraft AI _ Australia's ZZZK _ and No. 2 TSCMO of Norway will compete in the upcoming match.
The Sejong University-developed MJ-bot AI will also participate. It is an upgraded version of Xelenaga, developed by professor Kim Kyung-joon's research team. It ranked third in the final match of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) AI game competition, positioning itself as the top StarCraft AI in Korea.
Sejong has been hosting AI vs. AI StarCraft matches since 2014.
In February, Sejong University hosted a translation competition between humans and AI.
Sejong University ranked in the top 1 percent of universities in Asia in the 2017 evaluation by global higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
