Thai Korean War veteran laid to rest in Busan

A burial ceremony for Rod Asanapan, a Thai veteran of the 1950-53 Korean War, takes place  at the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Monday, marking the first such burial of a Thai veteran in South Korea. Asanapan, who served in the Thai Medical Corps and participated in major battles from November 1952 to October 1953, passed away in June 2023 at the age of 100. The ceremony coincided with 'Turn Toward Busan,' South Korea's annual Nov. 11 ceremony paying tribute to United Nations forces who supported the South during the war. Yonhap
