Netflix Korea will release its original series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," starring actor-singer IU and Park Bo-gum, in four parts over four weeks, starting March 7.

Along with the announcement, the streaming platform released the first set of teaser stills from the drama.

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" follows the adventurous life story of the rebellious Ae-soon (played by IU), who was born in Jeju, and the devoted yet naive Gwan-sik (played by Park Bo-gum). The drama beautifully unfolds their journey through the four seasons, capturing their growth and radiant moments along the way.

The teaser photos showcase a young Ae-soon wearing a school uniform with a sulky expression while Gwan-sik gazes at her.

The image alone conveys Ae-soon's bold nature and Gwan-sik's unwavering presence by her side, heightening anticipation for the drama's dynamic storytelling.

Despite being completely different, the two embark on a shared adventure, promising an engaging narrative.

With four episodes released each week, the drama aims to delve deeper into the four seasons of life, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.

In addition to IU and Park, the series features a strong ensemble cast, including Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon, ensuring a compelling performance that resonates across generations.

The 16-episode series will be released in four-episode batches on March 7, March 14, March 21 and March 28.

Regarding this release format, Bae Jong-byung, senior director of Netflix's series division, said, "We chose a release strategy that aligns with the creators' vision to maximize viewer enjoyment. From the beginning, the director and writer envisioned 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' as a story unfolding in four acts, and we wanted viewers to experience it that way."

He added, "Previous series have also adopted various launch patterns. Our goal is to release content in a way that best suits the creative intent and provides the most enjoyable experience for viewers."
