480th Turtle Marathon set for Saturday

Winter is coming, and it's time to enjoy the last of autumn sunshine by participating in the final Turtle Marathon of the year, Saturday.

The 480th Turtle Marathon, hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, the sister paper of The Korea Times, in collaboration with Suwon City and the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), will take place at Suwon's Hwaseong Fortress.

Starting from Haenggung Square in front of a palace built within the city walls, the walkathon will proceed along a 3.7-kilometer course through the North-West Pavilion, West Gate and North Gate, and finish back at the starting point.

Participants will get gifts and free drinks there. Drinks will also be provided by Nongshim at the mid-way point and a prize draw will be held at the end of the event. Prizes include a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, tickets to the musical "Sun & Moon." There will be a photo taken of the participants, and Miss Korea 2018 will also be in attendance.

Students who participate in the cleanup afterward, can register at 1365.go.kr to receive certification for the completion of three hours of volunteer work.
