Korean chef wins Hyatt's regional culinary contest

Oh Se-bong, a commis chef at Steak House at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, has won the Asia Pacific final of the Good Taste Series.

He will represent Asia Pacific along with five other chefs at next year's global final of the annual event, designed to cultivate emerging talent from Hyatt's kitchens.

In the sub-region final, Oh presented bulgogi sauce-marinated venison and gochujang potato croquette.

"I am thankful to have this opportunity to develop myself through this competition with contestants from other countries," Oh said. "I look forward to the global final where I would like to show more Asian spirit through the creativity in my dishes."

A total of 340 chefs from 68 Hyatt hotels in the Asia-Pacific region competed for the coveted opportunity to represent their sub-regions in this year's Asia Pacific final.
