Jin, a vocalist of seven-member K-pop titan BTS, has bought a 1.9-billion won ($1.7 million) residence at Hannam THE HILL in Hannam-dong, Seoul, reports say.
In March, Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, bought the 88-squre-meter suite for cash. Real estate sources said the value of the property had increased to 2 billion won since then.
"It seems like he bought the suite as an investment," a source said. "The place would also be great for privacy."
Jin and other BTS members are familiar with the neighborhood after living in a 302-square-meter suite at THE HILL for the past year. The founder of their agency Big Entertainment, Bang Si-hyuk, rented the suite for the stars.
Other celebrities, including actress Han Hyo-joo and singer Lee Seung-chul, also live in the building, which was completed in 2011.
BTS, which made its debut in 2013 with the album "2 COOL 4 SKOOL," has made K-pop history by topping the Billboard 200 albums chart. The band is currently touring Asia.
