Rapper San E uploaded the lyrics of his song "Feminist" on Youtube, Saturday and said he's not a misogynist.

The release comes days after he came under fire on social media for alleged misogyny. Posting a video of a recent incident between men and women at Isu Station that made headlines last week. San E seemed to counter the women's claims that they were attacked by the men, drawing a barrage of criticism from feminists.

Facing such allegations, San E disclosed the lyrics of "Feminist" and claimed he was quoted out of context. In the song, the singer says he is a feminist but the feminist movement in this country is not on the right track.

In the song he claims "Women have long been repressed in this country… but it's difficult to understand what they today say about equal treatment. They say men and women are not equal in this country. I would believe it if my grandmother said so but the younger generation of girls were not treated differently from their male counterparts when they were raised."

San E implies that women use a double standard when they talk about feminism.

The song continues, "if girls want equal treatment, why they don't go to the military. They don't pay their food or tea if they are on a date with men but claim they want equal treatment."

His YouTube post had over 1.2 million views as of Sunday.

San E found himself at the center of a controversy after he uploaded video footage about the confrontation at Isu Station between men and women on his Facebook account. The footage features two women yelling at four men who were involved in the incident which was initially a verbal brawl but later developed into a physical altercation.

His Facebook post went viral and within four hours, some 2,400 people had liked the post and some 1,200 replies were posted. Male and female Facebook users were divided online and attacked each other. Some internet users demanded the presidential office take action to punish the singer.

The backlash has taken a toll on his work. He was scheduled to perform a show Saturday but it was cancelled. The concert organizer "Xexymix," a women's sports apparel brand, replaced San E with a female rapper KittiB for the concert titled "XEXYMIX LEGGINGS PARTY."
