Actress Han Ji-sun has been kicked out of a TV show after media reports that she assaulted a taxi driver and police officers last year.

According to local broadcaster Channel A, Han, 26, was fined 5 million won ($4,200) suspended for one year for slapping and kicking a taxi driver, 61, after an argument with him in southern Seoul last September. Under the law, which came into force in January 2018, a fine of 5 million or less can be suspended.

When police arrived at the scene, she attacked them, too, claiming the driver did not go the way she wanted. Police said she was "highly intoxicated."

After the report on Thursday, many people called for her removal from the SBS TV show "The Secret Life of My Secretary," in which she has a minor role.

The show's production team announced the next day that it will eliminate her role.

"We will edit Han out of the episodes that were already filmed and will change the script of future episodes accordingly," the team said in a statement.

Han's agency J.Wide Company confirmed her conviction and apologized.

"We apologize to everyone for the incident," the company said in a statement. "Han has taken the legal consequences of her action. She deeply regrets her mistakes and has no excuses."

Han debuted in 2016 on the TV show "Sweet Stranger and Me." She has since appeared in many other shows, including "Man to Man" (2017) and "Black Knight" (2017).
