Seoul Foreign School (SFS) successfully hosted its first Seoul World University Fair on Sept. 7, giving students a chance to learn about various universities and what they have to offer.
Over 160 universities from 19 countries took part in the event including those from the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore and Australia and promoted the wide range of options they currently offer from general arts to specialized business courses.
It was attended by around 1,800 people including students, parents and teachers.
The event was organized by the SFS counseling team led by Joachim Ekstrom and Tu Anh Gilmore, who were delighted to invite world-class universities to the event.
"This was not just for our school families but for everyone in Seoul and Korea who has an interest in attending university abroad.?The fair was an opportunity to get information and have conversations with a wide range of universities," Tu Anh said.
The fair offered an opportunity for university admissions officers to better understand Korean applicants' cultural backgrounds by allowing them to talk to a wide range of students to help them decide on their future paths.
"This really is an international fair. Often the universities might come from just one or two countries but here it's a real choice," a student who took part in the event said.
Students from SFS acted as ambassadors and guides on the day ― introducing families to other schools nearby, answering queries and giving directions.
SFS clubs also took the opportunity to sell food, drinks?and merchandise, raising money for over 10 different charities.
