Online retailer Coupang said Tuesday its in-house qualification system for door-to-door deliverymen had been certified by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK) under the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The "CS Delivery Expert" is the first private delivery qualification to win state certification, according to the company.
"Coupang has worked on strengthening Coupangmen's expertise in delivery skills and customer service," said Nam Ki-young, Coupang's training director. "We will keep supporting Coupangmen on their journey to becoming delivery experts that provide a better customer experience.
"CS Delivery Expert" certification is recognized at four levels: Fresh, Senior, Pro and Master. Newcomers to Coupang's delivery team ― collectively named Coupangmen ― are obliged to take introductory training, and written and practical tests regarding delivery and driving.
Successful test takers win "CS Delivery Expert Fresh certification" before starting their work. They also get the opportunity to take tests for senior, pro or master certifications after a certain period of service if they have achieved specified job goals.
