Actor Namkoong Min will become host of CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment's K-pop reality show "I-LAND."

CJ ENM said Monday that the actor would take part as a "storyteller" of the upcoming show. In the role, he will help unfold the show's universe to viewers.

The reality show, set to go on air in June, will highlight the casts' journey to debut as new K-pop artists. It will be aired on Mnet, known for hit K-pop survival shows like the "Produce" series.

This will be the first project by Belif Lab, a joint venture of the two K-pop giants. The two companies joined forces in March last year, aiming to unveil a new K-pop band.

"The program will show the combination of CJ ENM's expertise in K-pop content production and Big Hit's expertise in music producing," Mnet said.

It also revealed that it has built a massive studio, designated solely for the show.

The exact date of the first episode has not been released.
