A song from BTS' fourth Japanese studio album "Map of the Soul: 7 The Journey" will be used as the theme song for a Japanese film, slated to hit local theaters in March.

"Your Eyes Tell," which was produced by Jungkook, will be featured on the soundtrack of the film of the same title. This is the first time the septet has contributed music and lyrics to a film soundtrack.

A Japanese remake of the 2011 Korean romance film "Always" that featured So Ji-sub and Han Hyo-ju, "Your Eyes Tell" tells the love story of an ex-boxer (Yokohama Ryusei) who has been hiding his dark past before falling in love with a woman (Yoshitaka Yuriko) who is slowly losing her eyesight.

Director Takahiro Miki revealed that he wanted to work with Korean musicians as in the original film. The production team mentioned BTS during their meeting, but they hesitated because the members were already global superstars.

However, they later learned that BTS was preparing a Japanese album, and the members are big fans of the original film. So they sent the script to the band and came to work on the project together.

"I wanted an emotional ballad track as the theme song, and BTS' Your Eyes Tell fit our purpose perfectly that we decided to play it many times from scene to scene, not just for the closing credit, Takahiro said.

BTS congratulated the film on its impending release in Korea and shared their thoughts on the collaboration.

"I think you will be able to feel what feelings we have put in the song," Jungkook said. He participated in writing both the music and the lyrics that include "I believe there is light in the future that your eyes are looking at."

"We are sincerely delighted and honored to be part of such a great movie," V said.

BTS will appear on KBS' special talk show called "Let's BTS" on March 29. They will share their experiences as artists, icons and people. It will offer an honest and genuine look at the group.

J-Hope released a 2021 version of his solo track "Blue Side (Outro)" on Monday, the third anniversary of his first mixtape "Hope World."

"Your Eyes Tell" will hit local theaters March 12.
