Wheein, of K-pop girl group MAMAMOO, has swept multiple music streaming charts with her single, "Water Color," which was released Tuesday.

Upon its release, "Water Color," the lead single off Wheein's first solo mini-album, "Redd," dominated the iTunes Song Chart in 12 countries, including Brazil and Thailand. It also reigned atop Bug's real-time chart, as well as won the top spots on the other local platforms, such as Melon and Genie.

"Water Color" is a New Jack Swing-influenced song, interlaced with trendy beats and addictive sounds. For international followers, Wheein is set to unveil an English version in the coming days, too.

Wheein says the song is all about her.

"It is a song about me coloring myself," she said in an email Q&A, Tuesday. "Please pay attention to the part where I belt out, 'I look good in everything!' It creates a charismatic aura."

She said she tried to broaden her musical spectrum through the album, which carries seven numbers in total.

"I think my previous singles were mostly tranquil and sentimental," she said. "But this time, I want to showcase my 'colorful' side."

Wheein penned the lyrics for two tracks on her mini-album: "OHOO" and "Spring time."

"In the case of 'OHOO,' I wrote its lyrics three to four years ago as I observed my cat," she said. "And 'Spring time' is a tune for my fans ― while working on this piece, I felt like I was writing a letter to them."

Wheein made her debut as a MAMAMOO member in 2014 with the single, "Mr. Ambiguous." MAMAMOO, comprising Solar, Moon Byul, Wheein and Hwasa, put out a series of hits, including "Decalcomanie" (2016) and "Starry Night" (2018). In 2018, Wheein went solo with the digital single, "Easy."
