A man in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, was arrested for allegedly letting his 8-year-old nephew steer a car, Saturday.
Clarence W. Hairston, 58, was sitting in a driver's seat holding a can of beer when his vehicle bumped into a parked car.
"The vehicle had stopped in the middle of the road and then was accelerating and braking. When it turned the corner onto Littlecroft, it struck a parked car," a police officer told the Delco Times.
Much more shocking was that the officer found a 8-year-old boy on his lap.
"There was an 8-year-old boy on his lap steering the vehicle and another boy, a 9-year-old, in the back seat jumping around," the officer said. "When the car finally stopped, the little boys got out and the driver gets out with the can of beer in his hand."
Hairston faces multiple charges including driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child.
He is being held on $15,000 bail, and will appear in court on Aug. 28.

8살 조카에게 운전대 맡긴 남성 결국
미국 펜실베니아의 한 남성이 자신의 8살 짜리 조카에게 운전대를 맡긴 혐의로 체포됐다.
58세의 헤어스턴이라는 이 남성은 운전석에 자신이 앉은 후 무릎 위에 조카를 앉혀 두고 자동차 운전대를 조카가 움직이도록 시켰다.
“도로에서 한 자동차가 정지하고 가속 출발을 계속 반복하며 이상하게 움직이더니 결국 정차된 다른 차를 뒤에서 들이 받고 정지했습니다” 사건을 목격한 한 경찰이 말했다.
더욱이 그는 당시에 술까지 먹고 있던 것으로 알려졌다.
그는 현재 음주운전 아동복지 위반 혐의 등 여러 가지 혐의를 받고 있으며, 보석금으로 15,000 달러가 요구될 것으로 보인다. 또한 8월 28일에 재판을 앞두고 있다.
