According to the social media post in question, the suspect wrote that he "feels a true urge to murder Song…will purchase a chainsaw," and threatened "I hope I don't need to use this on you."
Song's management company and MMA promoter Road FC said Saturday the controversial post clearly went over the line so they decided to legally challenge whoever was responsible. The company said Song has been "struggling to deal with a flood of cyber posts against her." They added that the suspect is someone who has consistently posted derogatory posts against the young fighter.
Song made her MMA debut on Aug.17 this year, defeating Japan's Yamamoto Emi.

여성 종합격투기 선수 송가연이 살해 협박에 로드FC가 법적 대응에 나섰다.
로드FC는 18일 '송가연은 그동안 SNS를 통해 인신공격과 비난을 감내해 왔다. 하지만 최근 살해 협박은 도를 넘었다고 판단했다. 이에 로드FC는 회의를 거쳐 협박자를 고소하기로 했다'고 밝혔다. 송가연은 지난달 18일 자신의 SNS에 한 이용자로부터 살해 협박을 받았다. 이 이용자는 이전부터 송가연을 비난하는 글을 다수 남긴 전력이 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
로드FC 관계자는 '이제 갓 20살을 넘긴 친구가 감당하기엔 힘든 일이다. 악플에도 꿋꿋하게 운동만 하던 송가연이 이번엔 본인이 먼저 글을 발견하고 로드FC에 알려왔다'고 밝혔다. 이 관계자는 '이번 일로 무차별 악플을 남기는 이용자들의 경각심을 일깨우는 계기가 됐으면 한다'고 했다.
