Jang, 29, visited his alma mater to give the lecture at a class about understanding philanthropy.
The university established the class this semester to teach about the importance of donations and charity works.
Students reportedly asked for Jang to be invited.
He has been acknowledged at the university for his donations to the school.
Wearing a dark blue suit, Jang spoke for about an hour about the philosophy behind charity work.
In October, the school acknowledged Jang and five of his alumni for their contributions to promoting a charity culture.

장근석, 모교 한양대서 '기부아이콘'..강의 펼쳐
배우 장근석이 10일 모교인 한양대학교의 강단에 섰다.
장근석은 ‘필란트로피(Philanthropy)의 이해와 실천’이란 교양과목 강의를 진행한다. 해당 강좌는한양대 측에서 기부와 자선 문화의 확산을 위해 이번 학기에 개설했다.
장근석은 강의를 듣는 학생들의 요청에 따라 섭외된 것으로 드러났다.
장근석은 약 1시간 동안 학생들과 소통하며 그의 인생 가운데 그가 실천했던 기부와 자선행사 등을 소개하며 필란트로피 홍보에 나섰다.
한편 장근석은 지난 달 20일 기부문화 확산에 공헌한 한양대 동문 5명과 함께 한양대 나눔 교수로 위촉된 바 있다.
