Singer Goo Ha-ra from K-pop girl band KARA will join the cast of upcoming TV mystery drama thriller"Babysitter" on KBS.
This is her first official step as a solo entertainer since the popular hallyu band announced its disbandment in January, amid rumors some of the four members were contacting other entertainment agencies about acting careers.
The band from DSP Media made its debut in 2007.
A few days after the disbandment, Goo made headlines by signing with entertainment agency Keyeast, which is headed by actor Bae Yong-joon and represents hallyu megastar Kim Soo-hyun from SBS's "My Love from the Star" (2013-2014).

"Goo is not only a charming singer but also has great potential to become an outstanding MC or actress," Keyeast said.
Goo appeared in the 2011 TV drama "City Hunter" on SBS and also had cameos in TV dramas in Korea and on Japan's Fuji TV.
In "Babysitter," a four-part series, Goo plays an attractive, intelligent babysitter caring for three children in a wealthy household. She becomes involved when things go wrong. The drama will air in March.

카라 해체後..'섹시 베이비시터' 구하라 연기돌 검증
카라 전 멤버 구하라(25)가 카라 해체 후 솔로 첫 행보로써 여배우로 데뷔한다.
일간스포츠에 의하면 구하라는 KBS 2TV 4부작 “베이비시터”에 출연하는 것으로 알려졌다.
구하라는 극중 명문대학교 영문과 출신 베이비시터 장석류를 맡는다. 교원자격증 소지자에 영어·불어·스페인어·중국어·일본어 등에 능통하면서 아름다운 외모까지 어디 하나 손색 없는 스물넷의 여성이지만 치명적인 단점이 있는 것으로 예고되어 있다.
“베이비시터”는 유복한 집안의 세 아이를 돌보는 보모와 그 집의 남편과 아내에게서 벌어지는 일을 그린다.
현재 방영중인 “무림학교”의 조기 종영으로 공백을 채우는 4부작으로 제작되었지만 완성도 높은 대본으로 방송가에서 입소문이 난 작품이다.
구하라는 이로써 카라 해체 후 첫 홀로서기에 나선다. 그의 드라마 출연은 2011년 '시티헌터' 이후 무려 5년만이다.
“베이비시터”는 3월 14일 첫방송된다.
