Seoul Western District Court fined the man 5 million won ($4,400) on Friday on charges of cyber defamation and defamation against the deceased.
In January, the unidentified man said on his blog that "the former first lady Lee is to wed Dr. Dre to launder the late Kim's slush funds," referring to the hip-hop legend who rose to stardom in the 1980s with N.W.A. and has released many hits such as "Still Dr. Dre" and "California Love."
"The defendant violated the honor of the deceased and the bereaved,"Judge Lee Eun-hee said in the ruling.
"The rumor about the slush fund and the marriage between Lee and Dr. Dre is groundless."
The late Kim, a towering figure in modern Korean history who swore to embrace the military state of North Korea with his friendly "sunshine policy" during his 1998-2003 term, died at 85 in 2009.
Lee, 95, has remained an influential figure in Korean politics since her husband's death.
In 2011, she visited North Korea to offer her condolences for the death of the then leader Kim Jong-il.
She paid another visit in 2015 to meet Kim Jong-un, who has succeeded his father, but failed to do so.

"이희호 여사, 美 힙합가수와 결혼" 허위글 올린 70대 벌금형
김대중 전 대통령의 비자금을 세탁하려고 김 전 대통령의 부인 이희호 여사가 미국의 유명 힙합 가수와 결혼할 것이라는 허위 사실을 인터넷에 올린 70대가 벌금형을 선고받았다.
서울서부지법 형사6단독 이은희 판사는 사자 명예훼손·정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률 위반(명예훼손) 혐의로 기소된 A(73) 씨에게 벌금 500만 원을 선고했다고 25일 밝혔다.
A 씨는 지난 1월 '이 여사가 김 전 대통령의 비자금을 세탁하려고 미국 힙합 가수 닥터 드레와 결혼식을 올린다'라는 내용의 글을 자신의 블로그에 게재해 이 여사의 명예를 훼손한 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다.
A 씨는 이 여사가 관리하는 비자금이 없을 뿐 아니라 이 여사가 미국 가수와 결혼할 예정이 아니라는 사실을 알면서도 허위 글을 블로그에 게시해 불특정 다수의 회원이 읽을 수 있도록 했다.
이 판사는 '피해자가 상당한 정신적 고통을 겪었을 것으로 보이는 점을 보면 죄책이 가볍지 않다'면서 '잘못을 반성하고 수사 직후 게시글을 삭제했고 타인의 글을 문제의식 없이 블로그에 게시한 점 등을 참작했다'고 양형 이유를 밝혔다. (연합뉴스)
