Bulguksa Temple to offer stays for foreigners

By Woo Ji-won

Foreigners will have a chance to stay at Bulguksa Temple, one of Korea's most visited monuments in Gyeongju.

The 1,500-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site signed a business agreement with the Foreigner Center of Gyeongju on Monday.

The temple worked with the center in May to offer the same service.

Under the latest agreement, Bulguksa will provide foreign workers, multicultural families and international students with various cultural experiences including a temple stay, more than two times a year.

A monk said the venue would "provide foreigners in Korea with opportunities to experience various Buddhist cultural experiences to help them understand Buddhism and achieve self-discovery."
