Surging gas prices

A car is fueled up at a local gas station in Seoul, Sunday. According to the Opinet, a gas price posting provider serviced by the Korea National Oil Corp., the nation's average gasoline price stood at 1,686.3 won ($1.49) per liter on the third week of October, up 11.3 won from a week earlier. Due to mounting tension in the Middle East amid U.S. conflict with Iran, Korea's gas price has continued its uptrend for 16 weeks since July. / Yonhap
