3 missing after fishing boat capsizes off Pohang

Three people went missing after a fishing boat capsized off South Korea's southeastern coast Saturday, the Coast Guard.

Around 8:20 a.m., officers received a report that the 9.77-ton boat with a crew of six was found capsized after catching fire about 81.5 kilometers east of Pohang.

Coastguards rescued the ship's captain and two others, they said.

The rescuer services have deployed 21 ships, seven aircraft and five civilian fishing boats to search for the three missing crewmembers. (Yonhap)
